Camp Philosophy |
The clinic will have a progressive format from week to week. The clinic will consist of implementation of a proper warm up, mobility routine, throwing program, mound blending, bullpens and using available technology. We will work on all aspects of pitching including PFPs and controlling the running game. The structure will be similar to the way we prepare our own pitchers to compete on a daily basis. |

What to Bring |
Players should wear proper baseball attire (baseball pants, shirt, belt and hat). Players will need a bat and helmet. Pirates indoor Hitting Facility is a turf playing surface. |
Staff |
Jimmy Moran Jimmy Moran was area scouting supervisor and Minor League coach for the Cincinnati Reds from 2016-2022 and enters his second season as pitching coach at Seton Hall. Coach Moran was picked by the Reds in the 2011 MLB Draft and he reached the highest level of the Minor Leagues with the Louisville Bats at Triple-A. Along with his scouting responsibilities, which covered multiple states, Moran has worked in a myriad of roles on the field developing pitchers with the Reds. He was the club's on-field representative for the 2019 USA Baseball Player Development Pipeline League before working in the Arizona Complex League as a developmental coach. Moran was responsible for 2017 fifth-round selection Mac Sceroler, who reached the Major Leagues in 2021. Moran was also the signing scout for 2021 first-round draft pick Matt McLain with the 17th overall selection. The 2023 Pirates ranked 1st in the Big East and 31st nationally in Team ERA, T-19th nationally with 5 shutouts and 30th nationally in H/9. |
